Whilst recipes for macarons date back to 8th century Venice, it is the French who lay claim to creating the delicious treat as we know it today. France Gourmet treated attendees at the Côte Du Soleil Sunshine Coast French Festival launch party last Friday to a batch of patriotic blue, white and red macarons to the delight of all.
Friday night’s launch party for the Côte du Soleil (pronounced ‘coat do sollay’) Sunshine Coast French Festival, held at the 26˚ Bar and Venue in Caloundra was awash with the colours of France.
The colourful cocktail party heralded the announcement that the Sunshine Coast will host a French themed festival at Kings Beach Park over the last weekend in July next year.
Attendees at the function celebrated in style with genuine French Champagne and a special guest appearance of France’s last queen, Marie Antoinette along with fabulous music from Rubatuba.
